Kaduna State Governor Confirms Terrorist Attack, Police Deny **Kaduna, Nigeria

Kaduna State Governor, Senator Uba Sani, has confirmed a terrorist attack on three communities in Kaura Local Government Area of the state, resulting in the deaths of seven locals and the abduction of 58 others. However, the state police command has denied the occurrence of such an attack in Southern Kaduna. The Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Mansir Hassan, stated that the command had made contacts in the affected communities and found no confirmation of the incident. He dismissed the reports as untrue. Despite the police denial, sources claim that at least seven individuals were killed and 54 were abducted during an operation by gunmen suspected to be terrorists in Dawaki Ward, Kauru Local Government Area, on Tuesday night. The attacks reportedly targeted three villages: Ungwan Sako, Kunkurai, and Dokan Kaji. Out of the abducted locals, 34 remain in the terrorists' custody, while locals managed to rescue 20 victims. According to sources, the terrorists entered the communities on foot and took strategic positions. They are believed to have originated from parts of Kajuru and Kachia forest, where their camp is situated at Dutsen Magunguna. Governor Sani expressed his concerns about the attacks, confirming that the state government had received information about the incident. He acknowledged the loss of lives, kidnappings, and injuries in Dokan Karji and Gefe general areas. The governor emphasized the need for military intervention to address the terrorist camps in the region. He highlighted the importance of raiding these camps to restore peace and security in the affected areas.
